Is Anybody Listening? - By Correspondent John Larson - In just 8 minutes, the students from Village Academy High in Pomona articulated the struggles of millions of Americans. They did it by making a video called, "Is Anybody Listening?" and you'll be surprised to find out who is.

I was so moved tonight by the segment on the students at Village Academy High in Pomona. And so impressed with their creative and caring teacher.
My aunt who taught high school in Alhambra died this week at the age of 99.
I can't think of a better memorial for her than to make a contribution to help these students.
Is there a fund or foundation for the students or education program at Village Academy High?
thank you,

Greetings:

Kids your viedo touched me very deeply and I feel very stongly that the President will remember you ALL.

Please plant the seed with other schools and share your ideals with other kids because there are many WHO ARE LISTENING, we adults need to see that you are sincere sbout your future, we have your back!
VIP...please start have some students to apply for city, county, and state jobs this summer...DO NOT HESITATE!.START YOUR OWN SCHOOL GARDEN AND INCLUDE YOUR SENIORS(50+) TO RUN I5 OVER THE SUMMER!!!

You did our nation a great service in this story of our present economic crisis. So much is written and televised about Wall Street, Madoff, home foreclosures, but you have put a face on the young people who will be the ones paying for the past economic mistakes

I saw this story on cnn. and So.Cal Connected, and yes I am listening and I am intersted, concerned and want to help our youth and their families. I am a retired person and would be willing to participate in fund raisings. I have a B.A in interdiciplionary studies at Cal. St. Domingues Hills and if there is a need for mentoring,
I am available,. I am bi-linguel in Spanish/English and live in the San Fernando Valley.

Seeing and hearing the restored hope in these very articulate kids who are so full of promise (and soon to be young adults and then our next generation of leaders) after the meeting with President Obama left me speechless.

It's all too easy to feel small, hopeless and without adequate access to channels of communication to our government when we need it most.

Thanks very much to Michael Steinman and his class at Village Academy High School for getting the community's message across so beautifully and eloquently. It's bigger than Pamona, of course, and your very eloquent message speaks for a great many of us across the nation.

I had to show this to my wife and it really moved us. Everyday, the news talk about what is happening around us and it is happening here in Hawaii also. This video is awesome and every American needs to see it to see and put faces for the enormous problems that we face as a nation.

It was good to see that students whose families are in financial difficulties because of the greed of people in trust were afforded the opportunity to visit with the president and go away with the feeling that maybe Washington is listening even though Congress does not seem to understand what the problem is and goes on passing legislation that is enveloped in hundreds of pages that no member of Congress reads entirely before judging it with a vote.

These creative honest and wonderful students are the future of our country and the USA is in good hands. They are an inspiration and I thank them all for doing this movie. I will be 78 years old in May and I respect and admire these students so much! I was a baby during the first depression and know that we will survive this one too.

Many thanks for the News Hours excellent segment on the kids from Village Academy. It was extremely affecting. It was also heartening to learn that these students have important values which many on Wall Street do not have.

Thank you to all for putting this on air. It was reality TV!

well im one of the students who helped out with the production of this video and it was one of my best works... and on behalf of Village Academy High i give my thanks to everyone who looked at our video.

I disagree with Barack Obama's policies but this was indeed good for him to do. The story is touching

This was an awesome piece. I got goosebumps, really. Thank you, KCET, for being a vessel with which to get this story out.

I thought about how nice it would be to facilitate a round table with the kids to help them cope with loss and adversity. My passion for training and development has, of late, evolved into the desire to become a motivational speaker. I have over 5 years of adult learning and classroom facilitation experience. I would certainly love to volunteer my time to help minister to the children about hope, faith, and positive thought and action. My story "Down But Not Out" also on Socal Connected is a testimony that, although it may seem as if things are closing in, if you remain focused and positive, and not be afraid to ask for help- you will see yourself through over and over again (-=.

im not one of the kids who made the vidieo but i am extreamly proud and thankful that this was all made possible. I am proud to be a student at village academy i knwo that school puts me in a very good possision for college and i know obama will do everything in his power to emerge from this crisis and everything will go back to normal. thanks again for all the people who watched and are concerned about village academy and the kids =]
