Excellent commentary, Marcos! It was inspiring to see so many, many diverse people out voting, some for the first time (despite having lived here for many years). Like my hairdresser, an immigrant from Iran, who told me that he voted for the very first time since he immigrated here some years ago. He said, "Politics have never been for me...but this election is different. I HAD to vote!" Obama's story is the story of many immigrants: a man from very humble beginnings, who benefited from the best this country has to offer, especially that Harvard education.
