Every day as I drive into work I marvel at all of those who are free from the daily grind of the 9-5; window shopping, dining, strolling, bike riding... I wonder who they all are, pedestrians with freedoms from traffic and the fear of being late due to traffic, and seemingly, office life.
What do you see on your daily commute? Curiosities, familiarities, things that just make you smile -- we want to see them all (under the stipulation, of course, that you keep your eyes on the road while the car is in motion, and not on your viewfinder while speeding down the freeway). Submit your photo to our Flickr pool, or email them to us.
On traffic congestion caused mainly by gawking or "looky-loose" traffic: With most cell phones now equipt with cams and people's natural curiosity to slow or stop to check "gruesome" accident scenes...terrible and frustrating traf congestion is inevitable. Solution: Come up with a covering just high and long enough to cover the commuters view (maybe as simple as a tarp). The object is to get people to the idea that they won't see or at least not clearly any scene worth stopping/slowing down for. And in California with the volume of traffic daily and with so many accident related delays...the cost benefit is stagering.
