SoCal Connected

on KCET

"These houses were built in 1928. Never been a flood here."

Financial Futures

SoCal Connected looks at how Southern California is weathering the economic storm, with profiles of three different groups of people. Anchor Val Zavala focuses on a teenager and his parents trying to figure out how to pay for college; MBA students at UCLA looking at their career plans, wondering if they really want to enter the business world; and senior citizens, wondering if they can afford to retire.

Everywhere people are talking about the economy. The advice I keep hearing is to reduce or eliminate credit card spending. Tonight on "Nightly Business Report" there was even a suggestion to create a 'spend only cash day.'  I realize that many, many people in this country use credit cards to spend money they don't have on frivolous luxuries they are unable to afford, but what I think most of the news channels forget to ask about (or even care about) are those of us that DON'T have credit cards. Many of us spend only cash EVERY day. Some of us cannot get a credit card for EMERGENCY use, much less to get our nails done with or clothing for our pets. I for one cannot pity those people so arrogant as to rake up thousands of dollars of debt for vanities sake. My compassion is for those people losing there homes due to greed and fraud of lenders however. I would like to hear financial advice for those of us who have always shopped at the dollar stores out of necessity rather than being quaint.

I watch that about the economy. I was realize that change my mind about spending money, because I'm not using the credit cards but not anymore. Sometimes I took my money with me in my bag and I spending to bought some clothing, food and everything.
