Now in its twelfth season, Fine Cut features the work of a collection of visionary artists and filmmakers attending such SoCal institutions as the California Institute of the Arts, Loyola Marymount, UCLA, American Film Institute, and USC. These films are as diverse as the people who made them. The films can be of any genre and style and all have been produced within the last two years.
The Host
Kevin Kilner is no stranger to film, television and theatre. In 2004 & 2005 alone he had four Feature Films completed. His film appearances include "Raising Helen", "A Cinderella Story", "Shopgirl" and indie film "Inside". He also appeared in multiple TV series including Gregory Nava's "American Family"as the East L.A. Priest to Edward James Olmos' brawling "Gonzalez" Family on PBS.
He is a Member of the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA), Actor's Equity Guild (Equity), and The Screen Actors Guild (SAG). In the Fall of 1999 he ran for the National Board of Directors of The Screen Actors Guild, won office, and served two terms from 2000 - 2004 on the Board and also on numerous Committees (Finance, Merger, Governance, Performers with Disabilities, and others). He and his Wife, Jordan Baker also support & work with numerous Non-For-Profits and Charities nationwide, including the Progressive Majority, the Sierra Club, the Union For Concerned Scientists, Smile Train, Heifer International and others. Born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in a rural farming community. He makes his home in Los Angeles.

Fine Cut – KCET's Festival of Student Film receives generous support from the Bridges Larson Foundation, a non-profit organization established by producer Jack Larson in memory of director James Bridges. The goal of the foundation is "encouraging excellence in theatre and film" through film school scholarships and grants.
