The House of Cardinali features Marilyn Lewis sharing and talking about items from her private collection of Cardinali original designs.
The Cardinali fashion house dressed Hollywood's elite, including Marlo Thomas, the darling of the 1960s hit series That Girl - putting Cardinali at the center of the fashion world. From coast-to-coast in the best social circles, well-heeled women wore Cardinali. Critics hailed Lewis' designs as avant-garde and truly original.
The collection was in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman, Bonwit Teller, Saks Fifth Avenue and the Beverly Hills Cardinali boutique. Marilyn Lewis was prominently featured in numerous top fashion publications, including Vogue, Women's Wear Daily, and The New York Times.
Lewis made an indelible mark on the fashion world and her creations continue to influence today's top fashion designers.

i feel so emotional- never have i seen such symphony of movement inside classic design- have you considered lending your talent for fabric and detail to professional ballerinas or figureskaters? can you imagine that perfectly cut fabric swirling around the calf of a prima ballernia in full flight or behind a spray of ice from flashing blades spotlighted in a darkened forum? a frock in pose is just that... "lets see how it moves" is my credo...i am as poor as a church mouse but feel rich looking at your collection in motion.

I am a fashion student at OCC and watched the Special on November 2. I am just now looking at the auction - I am so sorry at the dismal response so far. Sigh.
However, perhaps Orange Coast College or some other school with a fashion program would be able to accept this donation made to KCET via KOCE (we think you're all related!) to benefit students of fashion design and apparel construction.
Just a thought.
I hope there is a flurry of bidding in the next 24 hours!!!!
