In San Diego County, an experiment is going on with foster kids from abused and neglected backgrounds. The teens--aged 13 to 18--live in the country's first combination group home/high school. They share the campus with people old enough to be their grandparents. The senior volunteers in the program were given one instruction only--to just care about the kids. The results may change the way you think about foster teens, about seniors and about family.]]>

California Fish and Game officials estimate that poaching -- the illegal taking of wildlife -- is a $100 million problem. Two of the most sought-after animals are red abalone, found off the coasts, and caviar-producing white sturgeon, which live in the Sacramento/San Joaquin River Delta.
