The Changing Roles of Women in Religion

Female protagonists figure prominently in the work of Los Angeles artist Ruth Weisberg, especially so in her masterwork The Scroll. This panel discussion - featuring Rabbi Laura Geller of Temple Emanuel, Pomona College religious studies professor Dr. Zayn Kassam, and Dr. Jane Via, who was ordained by the Roman Catholic Womenpriests movement - explores the changing roles of women as religious authority figures within Judaism, Islam, and Catholicism.
