The list of books that have at some point been banned by American schools would be hilarious if it were not so frightening. The Great Gatsby? The Grapes of Wrath? Ulysses? Aren't these some of our country's greatest novels as well? Probably, a lesson in and of itself, and Skylight Books will be celebrating these banned beauties with an open-mic reading of your favorite selections.

From Skylight Books: Come in and read five minutes worth from our selection of challenged and banned books. Not only are we inviting you to participate, but we are throwing the gauntlet down for writers, poets, actors, students and teachers to read selections from their favorite banned books.
