VOD: Youtube Loves KoGi's Taco's

Last week the folks behind the Zocalo Public Square lectures turned their attentions to food in polyglot Los Angeles, specifically whether or not a dish can be ever "authentic:"

Authenticity is a virtue many of us prize in our restaurants. But Los Angeles is also a city where the California roll was born and the best pizza hews to a standard more Californian than Neapolitan. [full Zocalo]

The LA Weekly's Pulitzer Prize winning food critic Jonathan Gold was on hand to moderate a group of chefs that included Nancy Silverton of Mozza, Jimmy Shaw of LoterĂa Grill and Sarintip "Jazz" Singsanong of Jitlada.

Los Angeles being a town that also privileges the hottest and the latest, Korean taco truck KoGi was represented by chef Roy Choi. Below he explains how they came up with their two-great-tastes-that-taste-great-together invention

KoGi is as much an urban mapping conceptual art piece as it is an eating experience - huh? What? A twittering Korean taco truck? Let me get on my IPhone and find it! - so needless to say the internet tubes are full of video of people eating KoGi's, looking for KoGi's, talking about KoGi's. Here are some of our favorites.

Have you eaten at KoGi? Got an opinion? Or, better yet, a video?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the point of a lunch/taco truck that the food comes to you rather than the other way around?
