Today I called the Los Angeles Times to cancel my subscription of over 20 years. An account supervisor came on the line and offered me the same subscription for $21 a month for seven days delivery, half of what I was paying for the last few years - in reality I am now paying what it is worth.

Gung Hay Fat Choy! 恭喜发财! Gōngxǐ fācái! Happy New Year! It is the Year of the Ox, a year of determination, strength and fortitude.

As we leave the Year of the Rat and into The Year of the Ox, which begins on January 26th, 2009 and ends with the Year of the Tiger on February 14th, 2010. The Ox 丑 is the second of the twelve year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac.

Electric Love

I first met John Carrozza and Doug Prinzivalli at our mutual friend Peleg's house. I don't laugh out loud often, and I am not a constant chuckler, but John had me laughing most of the night. Being entertaining at potlucks is just a small part of what they do, they also entertain on a larger scale.
