I wrote about Ruth Sandoval a while back in a post about neighborhood sustainability. Her family owned Pupusa booth at the Atwater Farmers' Market is just a weekend job, her day job is the property manager of WinnResidental. Ruth always looks amazing even when it's 90˚ outside and she's flipping steaming hot pupusas to the long line at her booth, besides her family business, her first love is community building.
Ruth is a community organizer and her energy is boundless. This coming Tuesday Aug. 4th she has organized Give Neighborhood Crime and Drugs A Going Away Party, a successful theme from the year before. The evening benefits the residents who qualify for the low-income housing. There will be games, give-aways, and Mayor Bogaard will be there, as well as the local fire and police departments.
