OBESITY IN CHILDREN
Our children are eating more fattening foods,
exercising less and putting on the pounds. Over the last twenty
years the number of overweight children has doubled. The number
of overweight teens has tripled, triggering asthma, sleep disorders
and diabetes. What is behind this trend? And how can we help young
people eat smarter?
Part I: Michael's
Story
15-year-old Michael Marcello is bright, engaging
and weighs nearly 250 pounds. His parents are not overweight.
It is not genetic. After years of unsuccessful attempts at losing
weight, they take him to a doctor and enroll him in "Kidshape"
where they learn losing weight is often a family affair.

High School one health education teacher and a group of students
