Stories of Service
An intergenerational Digital Storytelling program that trains youth to use computers to create Digital Stories (short movies) about the experiences of "unsung heroes" from their community. It was initiated in 1998 in Sunnyvale, CA, as the World War II Memories Project. It has since been expanded to document the service of those who served our nation in other times of conflict, as well as those who have helped improved our communities and our society through their involvement in other causes. The site includes short videos that eulogize young soldiers who were recently killed in action in Iraq.
